South Australia & The Barossa Valley

Last week we spent 5 beautiful days in South Australia with Rob & Johnie! Our trip started out with a 3:30 a.m. wake up, early flight to SA arriving at 8 a.m.!! And an entire day to spend in Adelaide before heading out to the Barossa Valley! We remembered that holidays are wonderful for sleeping in, eating good food (and wayyy too much of it), laughing, relaxing, soaking up the sunshine, taking it easy and enjoy my mother-in-laws new camera..! I was slightly 'snap-happy' on this trip. Testing out her new camera was amazing....it's a 'big' one with a fantastic zoom & extra fancy lenses on it!! The country side was beyond beautiful and there was sooooo much to see!!! =) Sorry for the overload on photos..just couldn't decide which ones to post...trust me there is wayyyy more .... maybe like 600+ photos from a 5 day holiday! Just wait till we head to the states!!! =)

The Markets

'Roo" this is for you Zane =)

Pete, Rob & Johnie in Adelaide

Crazy fences

Rob & Johnie at one of the churches. Adelaide is also known as the 'City of Churches'

Us by the fountain

Stone Art Work

More Stone work

The 'Whispering Wall' It's an old Dam that has been shut off. One person stands here & the other walks along the top of the dam to the other side. When you talk you can actually hear each other really clear...it's simply amazing!

Pete on the walk way across the top of the dam

The wall/dam

Beautiful Flowers (Seriously I was amazed by the flowers in SA..I took heaps of photos of them)

Beautiful landscape at the Lavender Farm

The view from the Lavender Farm

Pete's awesome bee photo

Flowers (again)

Pete & I at the Lavender Farm. The little shop there was pretty amusing. They sold everything from lotions, foot salt, incense sticks, to food & wine..and everything had Lavender in it...slightly interesting! =)

The view from our Balcony in the Barossa Valley

Our names were on the TV screen...although we are not known as the 'Molone(s)' ha

I loved this steal art work in the hotel

Pete & I on the balcony off the restaurant over looking the Barossa Valley

At one of the Wineries

Penfolds Winery. They are one of the major ones in OZ

Picnic in the sunshine!! Wine & Cheese!! Rob met up with some friends he works with, so they joined us too.

A cute little bridge that connects a few different properties

Another winery

Johnie & I enjoying the sunshine

Cute little people =)

Us again

Johnie found this train hotel that she stayed at when she was heaps younger! It's an actual train on tracks, and they've just made it into a hotel...it's pretty cool.

Us, (again) playing with the camera

Lego Land. We visited this shop which hold one of the largest Lego collections in OZ. Needless to say we didn't realize it was in the garage on this old man's house. He was super weird, and honestly thought that he lived in 'lego land' He thought all the lego sets were real events, people and such....very strange. Needless to say we had some good laughs out of it!! =)

Batman & Robin lego people..they were my fav!

In a small mining town

A massive Manor, this was built back in the day for a 21 year old sheep farmer. We toured inside (no photos were allowed to be taken..bugger) but it still has all the original furniture and everything it it. It's 3 stories high and massive!

Us outside at a canola field. It was beautiful they were everywhere....so pretty much when you look out the car window you'd see....bright green wineries, and then bright yellow canola fields...super impressive!

Old gas/petrol pumps at a little cafe we stopped at

Inside the cafe, they blocked off the upstairs, but used the stairs as a book shelf.. =)

The 4 of us at the cafe. This place was our fav, it served 'Hot Dogs..with the works' which is not that common in Oz...! =)

Yeahhh we found some American Candy!! =) Pete always gets super excited when this happens! ha

Us...being little German people

Rob & Johnie in Hahndorf, this beautiful little German town we visited.

Johnie & I having a good laugh in front of the 'Chaterbox Cottage' which the boys found 'fitting' =)

And that's our trip in a nutshell! Thanks for a great holiday Rob & Johnie!
